WHEN UBAKALA IMPROVEMENT UNION, LAGOS CELEBRATED CULTURAL DAY
Amidst fun and funfair, Ubakala indigenes in Lagos celebrated this year Cultural Days
The occasion, which was held at No 1, Osawa Drive, Okata, saw Ubakala residents in Lagos as well as their friends and well wishers from all walks of life trooped in their numbers to grace the occasion
Among those in attendance were Bar. Chris Ezem, the SSG Abia State, who came all the way from Abia State, Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, the M.D/CEO SLOT Systems and his beautiful wife, Nkechi Ezeigbo, Elder Friday Ogbuehi, the PG,U.I.U(F), High Chief C.E Ekeke, Patron Richard Onyekwere, Mr Ken. Ubah and Elder Chris Olekibe, to mention but a few.
Majority of the men were dressed in their traditional attires while their women wore their meeting Uniform.
The event, which commenced 2:30 pm, featured cultural dance by the women of the various communities, who fought hard to please the crowd and outshine one another.
The women led by their Queen had danced to the high table stand and round the arena to the admiration of their male counterparts.
Another highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new constitution, which was performed by Bar. Chris Ezem, with the support of Elder Rollings Iroakazi, Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Elder Amadi Job, Elder Goody Mbonu
The event reached a delightful crescendo with the presentation of Awards. 15 individuals were honoured for their commendable role they have been playing in the development of the union in Lagos. Among them were Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, High Chief C. E Ekeke, Patron Onyekwere, Mr Ken Ubah, Elder Goody Mbaonu, Elder Amadi Job, Elder Friday Ogbuehi, High Chief Ugochukwu Asonye, Onyemachi Ogbonna, Elder Luke Onyeanula, Dr (Mrs) Mary Okezie and Uchenna Opah.
