PHARM.(HON.) CHIDI OKORIE BAGS CHIEFTAINCY TITLE


The former President General of Ubakala Clan Union, Pharm. (Hon.) Chidi Okorie will be conferred with the chieftaincy title 'Ochinanwata I of Umuosu Ubakala Autonomous Community' by HRH Eze (Dr) S.I Ibezim, the Evule Ukwu II of Umuosu Ubakala, during the Evule Ukwu Day celebration, holding on Wednesday 28th December, 2022 at Umuosu Community Primary School field.

The award is in recognition of his outstanding contributions, support, philanthropy and sponsorship to one and all.


Pharmacist (Hon.) Chidi Okorie is a native of Umuogo Ubakala in Umuahia South LGA.

He had his primary and secondary education in Ubakala.

in his resolved determination for self improvement, he went further and secured admission  into University of Jos, where he studied Pharmacy.



After graduation Pharmacist (Hon) Chidi Okorie worked briefly with Novatis Ltd. after which he went into private business activities, where he cut a niche for himself, with iron cast determination and vibrant entrepreneurial track record. He successfully established CNR Pharma Nig. Ltd, Tantabite Bread Nig. Ltd ( Makers of Tantabite Bread) and Value Fish Farm with employment strength of over 90 staff, which earned him 'Abia State Youth Award' in 2007 with the incumbent Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.


Pharmacist (Hon.) Chidi Okorie is a known uncompromising strong voice against oppression, he is an opinion leader and initiator of Values, a grassroot mobilizer, leader with philanthropic pedigree tentacles. Of a truth he is the face of new generation Ubakala.



He unarguably remains the youngest President General (PG) ever elected in Ubakala Clan Union Federated with verifiable landmark footprints in the sands of time, the generational giant strides of his tenure in the area of security and community policing, education / youth career choosing / employment programmes, Ubakala Sports development, building of first ever civic center for Ubakala and many other developmental initiatives of his tenure shall remain indelible in the chronicles of many generations of Ubakala.



As a result of his resourceful, developmental and colourful impactful leadership style, he was appointed SA by the then executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Chief T. A Orji.



Precisely, December 2012 Pharmacist Chidi Okorie joined federal civil service, where he presently works as an Assistant Director in the Department of Food and Drug services, posted to the Procurement and Supply Chain Management unit (PSM) of National Aids and STI Control Program (NASCP) of Federal Ministry of Health, these have over the years exposed him to several special national assignments, interfacing with foreign organizations as a supply chain expert.

He belongs to National and International Professional bodies like Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) etc with over 26years post graduation experience to his credit.


Pharmacist Chidi Okorie is a dedicated christian of the Adventist faith, who has made impact in the building of churches in and around Ubakala.

More so, he is a recipient of titles, honors and awards both traditionally and professionally.




He is married and lives with his wife, Mrs Amarachi okorie, in Abuja, who oversees the CNR Pharma Ltd and Stores, a trusted and growing pharma brand with  branches and many staff.



His marriage is blessed with 4 handsome and solid boys

WHEN UBAKALA IMPROVEMENT UNION, LAGOS CELEBRATED CULTURAL DAY

Amidst fun and funfair, Ubakala indigenes in Lagos celebrated this year Cultural Days The occasion, which was held at No 1, Osawa Drive, Okata, saw Ubakala residents in Lagos as well as their friends and well wishers from all walks of life trooped in their numbers to grace the occasion Among those in attendance were Bar. Chris Ezem, the SSG Abia State, who came all the way from Abia State, Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, the M.D/CEO SLOT Systems and his beautiful wife, Nkechi Ezeigbo, Elder Friday Ogbuehi, the PG,U.I.U(F), High Chief C.E Ekeke, Patron Richard Onyekwere, Mr Ken. SAD NEWS FROM UMUOSU AND AMIBO.

This is sad news coming from the home front of Ogbuehis in Umuime, Umuosu Ubakala. One of their sons Elder Boniface Ogbuehi is dead He died on 9th January, 2023, just three months after the burial of his mother. Late Boniface Ogbuehi, who was the elder brother' of late Godfrey Ogbuehi has been battling with health challenge for the past five years. This explained why he retired back home from Lagos. While in Lagos, he was an active member of OEAU Lagos, Alaocha Ubakala Development Union and by extension Ubakala Improvement Union, Lagos. He  played vital roles in the Oganihu Umuime Meeting, Lagos in the 90s.  He held various positions such as vice chairman and chairman and in consideration of his dedication and commitment to the cause of  Oganihu Umuime meeting Lagos, he was recommended for Eldership position in OEAU Lagos, in the early 2010s A very affectionate and disciplined personality.
